Can you find my kitty?

Well, since I cannot finish the tulip quilt, I have moved on to other projects. I will finish the tulips as soon as the thread comes in. In the mean time I am working on my applique wall hanging. I wanted to quilt a silhouette of a cat into the quilt but there just wasn't enough empty space around the vase, so I opted for a face of a cat that appears to be peering out above the table the vase might be sitting on. I even used a pattern based on my own lil furball Tippe as inspiration.

It took me about 6 tries to get the cat outline in there correctly. I could not figure out what was wrong with my machine, but every time I tried to turn the third corner, it would foul up the bobbin and lock up. Turned out that my needle, my nearly new needle, was bent. I should have guessed sooner - these things happen with size 60 needles. So I finally got the cat face quilted in. Can you find it in the photo?

While I was at Susan's house today, she worked on the applique part of the quilt for her mother. I worked on the stitch in the ditch portions of the applique quilt. I have to finish the heart on the vase, two of the flowers, and the straight portion around the colored border and the first part of the ditch stitching will be done. I think I will echo the stars on the interior of each star, quilt petals into the flowers and veins into the leaves. I am not sure what I will do with the vase or the background. I am open to suggestions!
